Ines' success story: From a small island to a future in the Netherlands
Ines grew up on a small island in the Atlantic Ocean, near Portugal. She spent her childhood there with her family. As she grew older, however, she found her future options somewhat limited. Since her teens, she had been in a relationship with her boyfriend, who lived in mainland Portugal. After ten years, they decided they wanted to live together. The only question was: where exactly?
Ines preferred not to live in Portugal, and her boyfriend didn't want to live on the island. So they decided to look a little further afield. They initially considered England, but that option was ruled out due to the consequences of Brexit. After hearing many positive things about the Netherlands from a good friend, they decided to move here.

Within two days of arriving in the Netherlands, they had already found work. As a true people person, Ines felt it was important that hard work be rewarded, but that people are the priority. Unfortunately, she missed that with her first employer. After three months, she connected with recruiter Robey van FlexTodayHe told her about a vacancy at HQ Pack, a client. Learning English and Dutch
When Ines arrived in the Netherlands, she barely spoke any English, let alone Dutch. However, with her enormous perseverance, she was soon able to speak a little English. Then she asked FlexToday We asked if we could also help her learn Dutch. Of course, we said yes to this strong, ambitious woman. We believe it's important to encourage personal growth. And if anyone has the drive to continue developing themselves, it's Ines.
She wants to fully integrate into Dutch culture. Learning the language is a key part of that. She wants to improve her communication skills, but also demonstrate that she's serious about her future in the Netherlands. Fortunately, she doesn't have to do all of this alone. Her boyfriend of 11 years supports her in everything. Together, they are building a new life in the Netherlands.
Ines feels at home at HQ Pack
At HQ Pack, Ines works within a diverse and international team. She appreciates this because so many different cultures and life stories converge here. She now also helps with onboarding new employees, a source of great satisfaction. When asked what she sees herself doing in the future, Ines readily admits that she wants to stay here. A healthy work-life balance
Ines is adept at balancing her work and personal life. In her free time, she enjoys drawing inspiration from the life stories of others by reading autobiographies. She also enjoys doing puzzles, which can bring her a great deal of peace. And when times get tough, she remembers her mother's meaningful words: "I'm proud of you. You can make your dreams come true."
She still greatly appreciates how Robey helped her. After a disappointing experience with another agency, he not only gave her confidence but also the necessary space and support. Ines says Robey was also there for her when she was stressed. And she can still always turn to him or one of his colleagues with questions.
A tip from Ines
Finally, we asked Ines if she had any advice for others who want to work on personal growth or make a fresh start in the Netherlands. Her tip? "Don't be afraid. Keep moving. Look at yourself and be proud of what you've achieved. Take time to celebrate, and then take the next step to grow further."
