We are looking for an Expedition Planner who is responsible for the efficient planning and coordination of transports of conditioned and cooled goods, both nationally and internationally. You play a key role in maintaining customer relations, planning transports and solving any logistical challenges.
About this position
As an Expedition Planner, you are responsible for efficiently planning and coordinating transports of conditioned and cooled goods, both within the Netherlands and abroad. You start your work by making an inventory of customer requests, accurately recording the requirements and final release dates. Based on this information, you consult with colleagues to determine whether the transport should be arranged with your own fleet or via external carriers. Planning the transports and outsourcing freight to external carriers is also part of your duties, whereby you proactively approach carriers for available options.
In addition, you play an important role in maintaining contact with both customers and carriers. You ensure that your customers are always informed about the status of their transports, and inform them of any delays, additional costs or damage. You have an eye for detail and can quickly respond to changing circumstances, which enables you to effectively trace transports and solve any problems. In the administrative handling, you process transport data, invoice correctly and ensure accurate reporting of deviations to your Supervisor.
In addition to the operational and administrative tasks, it is of great importance that you have a customer-oriented and results-oriented attitude. You know how to identify the wishes of customers and respond to them effectively. In addition, you work closely with your colleagues to achieve common goals, always striving for improvement and efficiency in the process. In your role as Expedition Planner, you are an important link in the success of the transport team, contributing both independently and as part of a team to a flawless execution of the transport orders.
Your tasks include:
- You inventory customer requests and record the requirements and final release dates, after which you consult with colleagues to determine whether the transport should be arranged via the own fleet or external carriers.
- Scheduling transports and outsourcing freight to external carriers is also part of your responsibilities, proactively approaching carriers for available transport options.
- You maintain contact with both customers and carriers and keep customers informed of the status of their shipments, including any delays, additional costs or damages.
- You process transport data administratively, invoice correctly and report deviations to your Supervisor, while always striving to improve efficiency in the process.
