A good example of this is our colleague Ryan Xhofleer, who has since earned his SEU certification. It took some time to switch from HBO to SEU
Ryan previously completed a higher professional education program and thought the SEU exam wouldn't be too bad: "I already had a degree, so how hard could it be?" However, in practice, it turned out to be more difficult than expected. The exam questions were quite sharp and detailed. It had been a while since Ryan had studied, so getting back into study mode was quite challenging.
In addition, Ryan now also had a regular job at FlexTodayAnd if you work full-time, it can be quite difficult to find the time. Especially since he also has an active social life, is regularly at the gym, and enjoys making music. Because of this, his studies sometimes fell by the wayside.
Support from his colleagues
Luckily we have at FlexToday An open company culture allows us to easily discuss such challenges with each other. When Ryan explained his challenges, his colleagues were happy to help. For example, they gave him the opportunity to study during work hours. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, Ryan would be ready with a cup of coffee from 8.00:9.00 to XNUMX:XNUMX AM to study. This made it much easier to study on a structured basis.
Applying theory in practice
Ryan indicates that studying is also very useful in practice. Previously, he often found himself having to look up information about the industry during or after an interview. Now he finds he can answer many questions immediately. He says: "I used to regularly ask my colleagues for help, but now that I have the knowledge myself, it saves a tremendous amount of time and makes me feel much more confident."
Exam tension and joy
Thanks to the many practice questions, mock exams, and review sessions, Ryan became increasingly confident. However, the exam is no ordinary experience, and there was also some healthy tension. After months of studying, the time had finally come: he was allowed to take his exam in ArnhemThere were six cameras in the exam room, and it was deathly quiet. Some questions were quite difficult. Still, Ryan managed to keep his cool and got into the car after the exam feeling good.
Shortly after, Ryan received the news that he had passed. And such great achievements deserve to be celebrated, of course: "Not long after, I received a message from Marielle saying 'Congratulations!' That was followed by a phone call with congratulations and even a delicious pastry at the office. What a wonderful way to end the day!"
Investing in yourself and your career
With his SEU certification, Ryan has not only achieved a personal achievement, but he also maintains the high quality of our work.
